Hi there...Looking to buy the Panasonic 42" Plasma.... is there any difference or are both the same model....as i see both listed on various sites.
Also, does this screen come with the TY-42TM4ZB terminal board as standard?
    Thanks

    No the models are different:

PHw5 is the high definition panel, not being released as a consumer unit in the UK
PW5 is the Standard Definition unit.

    Hope that helps.

    John.

Why is my new plasma a TH-50PHW5 if it's not being released as a consumer unit in the UK? ;)

    Hi StooMonster,

I shall also (in the very near future) be the proud owner of one of these big boys! The TH50PHW5B is as you say High Resolution, and is being supplied by Panasonic's UK consumer division. The same cannot be said of the 42" model however, and I think it is this model that steelej was refering to. The High Resolution version of the 42" model is not being supplied by Panasonic's consumer division in the UK. So any silver coloured HD 42" models that are available to buy will be grey imports. I think the black coloured 42" HD model is being supplied by in the UK by Panasonic's commercial division however!

I hope this clarifies the situation.

ps: What do you think of the 5B? & what (if anything) did you have before it?)

    Best Regards,
    KBDVD.
