Panny PD50, best DVD player to match ?

    Can you help ? also what features should i look for and how best to hook up ? Is RGB the best or composite ? What about S-Video

    Lol, component is your best option - whilst I wouldnt say "it is the best" the panny S97 does look good on my PD30 and with its HDMI/DVI (cant remember which it is) socket will allow for better connection if/when you go get a HD Ready set

    any quality Component output player HK DVD 22 for £130 is a steal HK DVD 25/2550 even better if you can find one then there ar edenon 2900 Arcam DV88+ etc loads of older secondhand bargains or something like the Pio 575 see the huge test thread by Raze

    Toshiba SD-9500 Component wise into my Toshiba 36" CRT is pretty stunning.

    Can be had for £300-400.

    LEConcepts are still doing this player with MR mod for £699 Horny, even at this price its an out & out bargain IMHO. Probably the best digital device I ever owned. And if you have a 36" CRT with component inputs, the term "no brainer" comes to mind.

    Mine is one of the end of line Toshiba players from Xmas, Only region 2 but the player is so good I can live without R1 DVDs going via it.
