when it calms down and comes back on you will probably find you can not eject the disc

    turn it off

then hold down eject it will come back on and eject the disc

don't panic it will come out

the trick I've always found is that you must turn it on by pressing eject this usually means it will eject without trying to read the disc

unplug it and make sure you leave it for 30sec

when you plug it back in it will go into recovery mode

when it comes back on turn it off with the button

    then press eject

by the way once ejected put in and play a dvd-video

eject this and things should be back to normal

it goes into standby powers down
I have now taken the top off & removed the ram disc by hand
reconected the panny it went into recovery for a few seconds then back to normal
tried the harddrive which worked fine ,then dvd movie which worked
do you think it would be ok to use the ram disk again as it is almost new
    thank for your help

did it say U11 error if so the ram is prob knackered

if not put in a -r which works then try again

not sure about the RF I can not see why not surely the manual mentions how to do this
