    Hi there,

Just bought an E95 and have connected Sky+ to AV2 on the E95 and then Component out of the E95 to a Component in board on a Panasonic PWD7.

All is fine when the E95 is switched on but when I switch the E95 off there is no passthrough and thus no Sky signal I've read the forum threads but not sure am I right in thinking that you cannot have passthrough when using the component out on the E95?

If that is not the case any suggestions as to how to rectify this problem?

    Many thanks, Tim.

Have you connected a RGB capable scart from AV1 on the E95 to AV1 on your TV?

If not, thats why no passthrough to view Sky when E95 off.

    Hi there,

Don't have a TV just a plasma PWD7 with a component in board to which the E95 is connected?

    Tim.

No there is no passthrough as you are using the E95 to actively convert from RGB scart to component - no machine will do this for you when it is off. ;)

TBH your best bet is to leave the E95 on - that way you will benefit from it being ready to record at a moments notice. If you not happy with that then a seperate converter: RGB Scart to VGA for example would do a decent job.

    Hi there,

As I thought, many thanks for your confirmation and I am going to buy a JS Tech Scart to VGA box tomorrow and hopefully that will also improve the PQ on the plasma from the Sky box.

    Again many thanks, Tim.

Yes - you should notice a marked difference.

    Hi there,

Received my JS Tech Scart to VGA and have got that up and running and do notice a difference between the PQ of the JS Tech and Component in from the E95.

But I can’t work out how to get pass-through when the E95 is switched off. I can hear sound when the E95 is off but no picture any pointers would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks, Tim.

    Hi there,

Sorry my fault I had the Sky+ signal coming from the VCR output not the TV output on the Sky box.

Hopefully the final question, well for now how do I get terrestrial TV to appear when the E95 and the Sky box are both off. Presently I have the terrestrial aerial going into the E95 box is there something I am not doing here?

    Many thanks, Tim.

You can either switch Sky or the E95 on and use that :) Your PWD7 plasma does not have an internal tuner - thus most users tend to use their Digibox or DVD recorder/VCR as the tuner.
