Is there anyway round the copyright protection when wanting to backup a DVD that you own on to the HD of the E85 ?

It is possible to play back the dvd in another machine and record the output by using a special connector which strips out the protection. However it is never as good as the computer method which is a digital copy and preserves all the menu structure and extras.
Apparently it is also possible to connect av1 to av2 on the recorder with the special lead and play the dvd in the drive and record the output to the hdd, monitoring via a rf lead on the tv

The leads are available from www.sonel.com - They are fully wired Scart to Scart with a little circuit board hidden inside on of the plugs that does the deed!
