Could try the "AE200 or me" approach in reverse. :D

Perfect timing as I'm going to be getting one in a month or so, and no problems with the other half as she loves the idea!

Oh dear...... new projector AND a new wife, so :D

I'm lucky enough to have great support - if there's trouble with that then it makes thing quite difficult. Take her to see a demo, that might work.

Lets see, 100" projected image bringing a taste of the odeon to the living room is the same price as a so so 32" widescreen tv,

    Yeah very tempting.

If I had a small TV (32") defently consider this PJ; better than the terrible 100.

put your trousers on and be a MAN!!! if you want a projector and finances are NOT TIGHT go out and buy one!!!

I have never understood this whole wife acceptance factor approach to life.
Life is too short to have your dreams stopped by someone else,
im all for happy marriages etc but NO ONE is going to tell me I cant have something I really want when I WORK HARD ALL WEEK!!!If she knows how much it means to you then she should be HAPPY for you, esp as she will benefit from having a bloody cinema in her house!!!

I guess im lucky that my missus doesnt think that way and encourages me to enjoy myself and get the things I want
but if she didnt I WOULDNT LISTEN!!!

It's not just a question of cash though is it?

A PJ can suck up a whole room dedicated to it, she might then demand £2000 shopping trips for shoes or clothes or whatever, and there's the all important "keep her happy - keep her horny" problem. **** her off and it's no play time for Mr Winkle. ;)

Would you like it if she shoved all your electronics into the hallway so the lounge could become a sewing room?!

So should be a joint decision IMO.

Still at £800, you should "accidently" blow up your current TV and get the PJ.

    Very tempted.
Was going to save for a Z1 but on spec the AE200 seems 95% as good. Anyone that's seen both in action care to comment?
And what's the reliability of the 200 like?

Had an AE200 since November 2002, works perfectly each and every time and at this price it's a steal.

blimey sewing machines!!! what century are you in !!!
most houses have TV /film watching areas and hifi etc.A very small piece of machinery like a projector that can be put away if necessary is hardly going to TAKEOVER!!.
Put those balls and chains away lads or find a woman who supports yah I say!!!
