I'm using my Xbox (with DVD-X2 with progressive scan patch) running though component cables and I think the image is stunning. The Panny says i'm running 525p mode.

Anyway, I've been reading on various forums that they said that the Panny has to do some considerable downscaling which degrades the picture. is this true 'cause it looks great to me.

Would running DVD's from my PC straight into the VGA socket yield a noticebly better.

    Thanks for the advice.

You could give it a whirl. Just make sure you get a 1:1 pixel map using powerstrip ( the exact figures are on here somewhere).

I use a HTPC all the time with my ae100 and personally wouldn't bother using it any other way.

Same here - using a PC at native resolution (check here for details) really hits the AE100's sweetspot.

    Have fun,
