Panny 6 and dead pixel?

Hi All,

Had my Panny 6 for a few months and yesterday noticed what I assume is a dead pixel.
Basically there is a pixel that stays permanently red (looks like a little cross on close up); is this a dead pixel?
Funny thing is never noticed it before.
Doing the screen saver (white bar) and image reversal for 30 seconds seems to have no effect. Is this a permanent thing now?

Sounds like it I'm afraid, though I have known pixels to return to life, after all this one is stuck not dead. 1st I've heard of on a Panny 6

My Panny 6 had one also, stuck on red from new !!

Erk,
Problem is although it's relatively minor it's surprising how your eye is drawn to it. Is there nothing I can do to 'unstick' it?, or is it just plain luck if it goes on it's own accord? (what worries me more is that new ones could potentially appear!).
