Panny 50" auto switching??

Hey guys

Any chance anyone can help mr out?

I've got a Panasonic 50" plasma
For some reason it will just randomly switch to hdmi1
Not all the time thow
this happens even when my Panasonic
Player is switched off (which is connected to hdmi 1???)



Not got the model of my tv and Panny player to hand right now,
If needed I can post it on here later

TV's generally auto switch to hdmi 1 when that product goes live or possibly looks for updates ? If your DVD / bluray is also a hdd recorder it probably is just downloading the latest guide info.

Quick short term fix is to use hdmi 2 , 3 or 4 instead !!

It's a Panasonic 3d bluray/digital hdd recorder,

I did think that but surely it wouldn't use the tv to download the guide would it,
Even thow it's connected via the hdmi both my tv and box have there own aerials.

Its downloading the updates for the guide over the air ( nothing to do with the TV ) and part powering up while it does it

You will also find it auto selects hdmi 1 at the start of timer recording , its certainly not faulty its just how it works but changing the hdmi to Nos 2 , 3 or 4 will hide the effect .

i did unplug the hdmi cable which connected the two to try and rule out if it was a glitch of some sort been unplugged for a few hours now and no cutting out at the mo!

but by the sounds of what your saying fingers crossed youve hit the nail on the head.

just a waiting game now !!!!

so much for the nice lady at panasonic giving me a call back to see if the fault had gone.
