Panny 42PX80 Sound

Active Member
After being used to built in surround sound on my old CRT tv, i find the panasonic sound is not quite as good.

Anyone added a surround sound system to this set from panasonic or anyone else?

Just after a few recommendations really from people using something with this set.

Put a thread in the home cinema section on here but didn't get any response

I appreciate any advice

I'm not happy with the sound quality either... I have a JBL SCS-178 speaker set with a Sony STR-DE485 receiver. You can find the surround for 299€ and the amp for about 199€ (in Spain :D). Can check the size of the front speakers compared with the px80. Hope this helps.

I'm also of the opinion the sound is complete pants. I have the Panasonic SCHT 850 surround sound system (bought before the tv) which is excellent. It also has the Viera Link which allows both units to be operated from the one Panasonic control. Its an upscaling dvd player which gives a great all round result.
