Was looking to get a PW8 soon , then I came across the PHD7 for £1659 inc delivery from Krish
    http://www.krishav.co.uk/store/prodView.asp?idProduct=1091&idCategory=496 .(anybody used them before??)

Add a wall/desk mount + extra board and it would be roughly £1900.

    I'm all confused now.
Bye the time I make my mind up probably the PHD8 will be sub £2k

I must have missed the boat on that one - their all gone!

I will be eventually looking for a scaler with my panel.
If I decided to go for the PHD7, what scaler + input board on the panel would complement each other without going overboard on expense.

I have a Denon 2800mk11 dvd player -component
Telewest - scart ( HD in approx 1 year using HDMI I think)
    PS2 - svideo
    PC - DVI or RGB

    Cheers

    I have a Pioneer D2011 which has 2 components in /1 out.

    It has 2 s-video in/1 out aswell , but I'm sure you can't mix the s-video + component inputs to 1 output.

I would get a JS to YUV converter for you Telewest box, and then go into your amp with the denon dvd and telewest component and component back to the screen.
Then PS2 into the amp S-Video and let the amp convert to component if it does that?

Then go in with your PC on the VGA input, you can get it 1:1 mapped over VGA for a razor sharp desktop.

    Hi Gizlaroc,

Thanks for your reply. I don't think s-video can convert to component on the amp.

    What about a scaler?
    Which one would you recomend?
I don't want to spend too much on one, so it looks like between Lumagen DVI (£800 approx) or DVDO HD+ (£600 approx on Ebay).

Would this be the better option to covert everything on the scaler + go into PHD7 with a DVI input on the panel?

    Cheers

The PHD8 panel from AV Sales is £2,150 with desktop/wall stand, composite/s-video board, integral VGA port, and 2 years warranty.

The PHD7 from Krish comes with nothing. I think the VGA port on the 7 series was disabled.

Difficult choice really as there is allegedly not much between the 7 and 8 series. Mindyou, I don't think there will be much in the price once you have purchased the stand and board(s) for the PHD7.

Go for the PHD8, you get component on the VGA, HD-READY and £250 more, it really is a no brainer.

Or I will sell you my HD6 with bracket or stand, dual input board and 2 years warranty for £500 less than the price of the HD8! :)

If you want a scaler then you may want to consider hooking up in a different way. Would you buy the scaler now or in a couple of months?

I would probably buy the plasma + scaler together in a few months.(hook the scaler to the panel with one connection)
