Looks good but have got no idea about connections
i am connecting PC, PS2, DVD, old VCR, and SKY
can someone explain in PLAIN English what will i need extra

    Also i would consider the
    - Hitachi 42PD5300
    - LG RZ42PY10X

Need urgent help as i need to order ASAP to join the wonderful world of plasmas
    Thanks guys,

PS: currently have a 14" black Matsui fed through crap indoor aerial
so from that u can assume that i dont know much about PQ, inputs, connections, DVI, etc

Get a dual slot board and a scart board.

    Scart - Sky
    VGA - PC
    Component - DVD
    S Video - PS2

    Bingo.

Who's RS? How much for the screen from them? Link?

I'll have a look and see how much it'd cost you...

What DVD player do you have?

    £2300 for the panel
    £120 scart
£95 for component and s video.

    So you're looking at £2500 + stand

Depending on your budget, you might be best to invest in one of these. http://www.av-sales.com/html/iscan_hd_.html That'd make your screen look the absolute tits mate. And you wouldn't need to bother buying those boards (£200) As you'd feed everything into this, and it'd upscale it.

Think i got that right. :)

Whooops. I thought you meant the High Res panel. :D

Save over £400 and go for the PW6 from Richer Sounds. That's a cracking price by the way, and the money saved will pay for your boards, stand, and some change for some cables or something.

What DVD player do you have?

With that £400 you save, invest in a nice Pioneer 575 dvd player from richer sounds, it's only 100 bucks, but it'll give you a cracking pic through component leads.

    You'll need these inputs...

    VGA (already on plasma)
Component /Svideo/Video board (takes up two slots)
Scart board (takes up remaining slots)

That's what you'll need, and it'll give you a cracking picture.

Seen alot on here about staying with a well known dealer but I've dealt with RS alot over the years and if you know what you want and don't need their advice then I'd go for it.

I've never had any probs with them...just great prices.

In fact I'm popping in on Wednesday when they expect more stock and getting myself one....can't wait

all in plus much higher resolution (inc speakers for the posing factor of bigger tv ;) )
    isnt that better??

Chances of getting a dual slot out of RS minimal chance of scart board slim costs of boards sky high and the salesperson even if they have stock will try and sell you anything other than the Panny! Or order from a proper dealer! Up to you!

Horny, it's not a problem for me what board(if any) comes with the panny.....I've did my research etc over the last month, with some good advice from here and I already have a duel slot Component/composite board that I sourced elsewhere for a good price...got the cabling sitting waiting also and RS won't sell me anything else that I don't want.
