    Hi Guys,

Bit of a strange one, I'd be interested to know if anyone has had a similar problem.

I have a Pani 85 (got it about 1 month ago).

Everything on it seems fine, except for a couple of times it has reset itself.

Once when inserting a DVD and another time when closing the DVD tray after removing the disc. The unit goes through an extra long self check, then, when it finishes booting, a message comes up saying it's recovered from an error.

Is this a common thing? Or am I unlucky enough to have a faulty unit.

It's only happened twice, but if it's a dud, i'd rather get it swapped now.

    Thanks in advance.

Possibly DVD-R media issues or scratch/finger prints on disc, unlike a normal DVD player, DVD recorders are less forgiving when it comes to media problems, so, maybe unit ok, check your media first

    It's happened twice.

First time with a rental DVD, which, after the DVD player reset itself, played fine.

Second time with no DVD in it (i'd just taken the DVD out)!

Go into service mode and look at last stored error code, this should point you in why error occured, search past posts to find out method and reading
