I always wondered what i'd do if i'd plumped for just a panel (haven't got anything yet but the countdown is on).

I listen to music sometimes with the tv on, usually watching the news or something.

now if i chose just a panel like a PW, i'd be stuffed.

do panel owners really just boot up their A/V system just to grab a bit of telly or is there another method, like a small set of speakers.

ideally if i bought just a panel my wish would be to turn it on and sound come out without having to turn on the amp and sub.

any suggestions whilst i'm deliberating on a plasma screen?

there is nothing sensible you cant do with a panel that you can with a Telly (trver Mcdonald will only come from centre channel........ it is a waste of money makes cabling more complex control more complex and is generally pointless but it can be done!!!!!

I rarely use the remote that I got with my Hitachi 5300 plasma - as soon as I switch off my Yamaha amp, the plasma comes up "Please confirm source", and 15 seconds later it switches itself to standby. When I turn my amp back on, the plasma switches itself on again.

The PW7's internal amp can drive external speakers to respectable volumes (and beyond). This is exactly how I use mine. All sources - Sky, Xbox, DVD - are plugged into the various input boards in the panel and I use the panel's remote to select which device to watch. I'm using KEF Q15's and and an active sub connected to the speaker terminals. It works well and is simplicity to use.

It may not be of ultimate quality or even 5.1 surround but I only use my panel as a TV and have a completely seperate system, with projector, for the big movie experience.
