    Hi all

I recently purchased a TH42PX80B and connected it with my Wii using a Gameware Component Cable purchased from Game. The problem is the picture quality is a lot worse when I select the 420p setting on the Wii Screen Setup. If I choose the 50hz or 60hz option the picture is noticeably sharper.

I wasn't expecting the Component cable to make a huge difference in picture quality but I wasn't expecting it to be worse.

Have I got a faulty lead or is there something I have setup wrong ?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

If I remember you should select the 568p output (if its there - along time since i set my daughters up)

Thanks for the advice but we are both wrong on this one. :)

The setting I have chosen is EDTV/ HDTV 480p not 420p (that isn't one of the options).

    568p isn't an option either.

    Any other ideas ?

Should i just buy the official component lead ?

i have a cheapy component lead from blockbusters, was miles better then the standard composite leads.even the gf noticed the difference which is saying something.

480p is the correct option to choose.

I have heard many owners of both the PX70 and PX80 complaining of poor picture from Wii via component at 480p. PX series just seems to suck at 480p via component. Stick with 480i.
