Panasonic YUV better than DVI

Hi there, as I had just a panasonic technician in to watch my TH50PH9 he suggested me to get a YUV 42TM6Z Board instead of DVI. And although I already use component via an YUV to VGA cable he said it's not the same and the YUV Board will be the best for the picture.

But why and what do you think?

The negative thing of my TH50PH9 is the poor black level (but it seems, that the old G6 Panel just did it better and it's not a problem of my PH) and the poor contrast... But that might just be because I compared it to an 42PHW6 and the 42" Panels are alwys much better from the contrast than the 50" ....
