Went to the presentation tonight where they had the line of new DVD recorders. These babies are beautiful looking, VAST improvement on current ones.

Here are some points worthy of note...

    1.ES10, ES30, EH50 (80Gb) release imminent. ES20, EH60 (160Gb) both will have Freeview in-built and analogue tuners.
    2. None of new range have DV IN. E95 & E500 will remain in the line up.
    3. Recordable Media = DVD Ram/-R/-RW/+R
    4. Playback Media = DVD Ram/-R/-RW/+R/+RW
    5. From standby to record it takes 1 second !!!
    6. From standby to playback it takes 10seconds !!!
    7. Dubbing to DVD-Ram 5x disc @ 40times. DVD-R 8x disc @ 64 times.
    8. LP mode resolution goes up from 250 lines @ 352x576 to 500 lines @ 704x576.
    9. Time Based Corrector and 3D Digital Noise reduction. Noise and Jitter recording from poor quality VHS tapes to DVD is virtually eliminated. Excellent for archiving old VHS tape !
    10. 12-bit A/D converter with 4x better gradation over previous 10-bit. From 1024 to 4096.
    11. Remote Control features a smart wheel.
    12. Menus are selectable as thumbnails or lists.
    13. Smoothsearch of 1x 2x 5x 10x 40x 200x. At 2X you wil get 8FPS, effectively a very smooth high speed picture.
    14. All models feature Progressive scan but no digital output (HDMI).

    HTH some folks :)

Does that really include the EH60? I thought that the EH60 was supposed to replace the E95 in September. It would seem very short sighted to release a whole new range with no DV-in sockets.
