    I have just upgraded my Samsung 46" 1080p for a 50" Panasonic TX50AX800 4K Smart TV.
My question is that the stand I had for the 46" is a little small for the new TV. The new TV has an inch either side overhanging. Is this a problem?
I currently have a Mountright UMS4 Black glass stand.

    Thanks in advance

The TX50AX800 has a very sturdy chassis and I have seen this TV placed on top of a stand that is too small for the TV. My "guess" is you'll be ok, most of the TV's weight is transferred to the large heavy block-support at the back of the TV. I guess the bottom rail on the TV might bend a little... not sure if that would be a permanent bend, if you left it long enough.
