    Panasonic TX42PT10,
anyone own this set? As its pretty new I can't find any reviews. Also I'm still a little afraid of RP sets! (this will be my first time!!)

    Thanks!

I've never seen a review of this set anywhere, don't know why?

Like you I was 'scared' of getting a RP TV and it took me a while to decide.

In the end I went for a Tosh 40WH08B whic I am VERY pleased with.
The pic on the Tosh RPs are considered the best and I highly recommend them.

It depends what else you want really.

    Dolby Digital Sound? (Tosh)

    IDTV? (Sony)

    100Hz (Tosh)

    Component input for DVD? (Tosh)

Whatever you do don't bother with a demo in the High Street shops. They are rarely set up correctly and the flurocescent lighting doesn't do it any favours.

    Good Luck.

    Hey Yakko

I've just purchased this set and so far I'm very pleased with it. Look out for my post (coming shortly) on my findings over the hols.

You won't find any reviews just yet (believe me I tried) as the set is very new.

    Cheers

    Laurel

Ive seen one in my local Panny shop and I must say that I was impressed with the picture from both DVD and analogue TV. Infact as it was next to a plasma screen so I did a side by side comparison with the same signal fed to both, and found the RP gave a clearer, sharper image. The TX42 seems to have quite a wide viewing angle too.
I would love to compare it with the Hitachi Ilumina as this is supposed to be an excellent RPTV. Has anyone already done so?

I've seen a demo of the Pan 42 and I must admit I was impressed with the pic, albeit an analog signal being shown. What I didn't like was that the screen looked too reflective and this and the asking price of £2000 put me off.

If I were you I would hang on for a review or advice from someone who already has one.
