Just noticed it was £499 at Currys so ordered one!

I thought HDTVs would have been coming in a bit faster so as a stop gap, am going for one of these.

Anyone tested one next to a toshiba 36zp ?

Heard alot about the pannys and that they are Ace, what do you all think?

You're a bit late I'm afraid, most if not all have sold-out.

Where did you manage to get one? I ordered online on Friday but their useless site didn't process it properly and now I can't find any stock.

    Cheers

I went into a store in South Wales, at first the guy said they are due in 2moro, then had a look on the computer and said not due in till friday in the warehouse, then tried to order me one but it said do not take orders product discontiued so put it through manually and said they'd call when it comes in...

Which I don't mind cos we are decorating and if I change my mind can always use my 7 day money back to get my dosh back if anything better comes up... :)

Must depend on your postcode though.

I have just typed mine into Currys & Dixons sites and there is none left, so looks like N.Ireland has run out.

Lucky I got mine ordered last week. Now it better be delivered on Friday or there will be a row !!

I found the online store let me get through to the order submission stage a few times on Monday and Tuesday, but it always failed right at the end and displayed the "session timeout" error screen. I rang em up about this and they said there was nothing they could do, but to try the telephone order line as they had a different stock allocation. Tried them but they had none and suggested I ring the stores. Tried the stores but none of em answered so ended up being put through to a central call centre. They also confirmed that no London stores had stock, but a nice guy called Steve checked orders on the warehouses and found there were 17 coming in to W.London. He even rang the Twickenham store to ask em to match the discounted price (£50 off) which they did.

So I went down to the store yesterday and the manager rushed through the order as they'd apparently been dissapearing from the warehouse at a mad rate. I watched the screen as it went through and I got the last one from W.London :)

Being Currys, something had to go wrong though... Twickenham branch won't deliver to my address (Chiswick W4) despite only being 3 miles down the road as it's in another store's area! So I've gotta arrange my own transport. I hate Currys but love the price of this telly :)

Its back up in price because it was only a 6 day offer.

I will let you know my thoughts on mine when I get it set up and running.

Its £499 at currys again, however, if you try to add it to your basket it tells you your session has timed out BUT it lets you add any other product....

No dice. First time I managed to add to basket, now it tells me they're out of stock due to high demand. :(

And I've just bought it! Ha!

But seriously, would two people be sufficient to get it set up properly? I'm really looking forward to getting everything hooked up properly and looking great. I can finally be proud to post in Member Home Cinemas!

This was one of my serious concerns with switching to plasma. However, set up properly, the PV500 is simply awesome. Seriously. The picture is as good as the CRT but then again...it does cost about a grand more as well! But my wife hated the size on the CRT case so it had to go (I personally thought it looked fine). But it's a superb TV, and no picture comes close at this price.

But it's all subjective. My father in law has a £999 plasma - I personally couldn't live with the picture quality. But he thinks its wonderful. And I honestly don't think he can see a difference between his £2 Scart, non-calibrated plasma picture and mine.

Ordered mine last week when the ad came out in the paper ! Expecting delivery sometime next week, thought at that price that i could not pass it up and i think i will wait now for the plasma technology to move a pace or two with Hi def getting established and all panels being made with more than one HDMI input. Well i will let you know if it turns up !!!!

Just received a call from Currys telling me that it will be delivered between 10am and 2pm tomorrow. Promising.

Hope to get it set up over the weekend.

Bit concerned now that I have an all-in-one Sony DAV-S500 system and unsure if progressive scan (don't think it is), so perhaps I will not get the best pic quality.

Can anyone tell me if there is any REAL noticeable difference in porgressive scan, or is it just one of those things that shows a difference when hooked up to an oscilloscope only !!

There is a very noticible difference ;) !!

Get the tosh 150e from tescos at £49 and if you don't think its any good just take it back, (just say its not working) ;) and if you really like it, u can always buy it mail order for £39 :)
