I never use the TV's own output always using either Freeview via AV1 or DVD via AV4C. I have ordered the new Arcam AVR300 receiver and this will enable me to route all the video sources through the TV's AV4C.

Is there a way to force the TV to select AV4C as soon as I switch on rather than pressing the TV/AV button?

Alternatively, the receiver has a learning remote, might it be possible to do what I want through this?

turn the telly on, and then once your 'normal' picture is up, turn on your DVD player/send a signal thorugh the AV4 connection. The Panny should automatically switch to the "last" source that is fed to it (if you follow what I'm saying... )
