Panasonic TX32LXD52 - best John Lewis price ?

Hi there,

I'm looking at getting the Panasonic TX32LXD52 LCD at the moment. I'd like to buy it in John Lewis to take advantage of their free 5 year guarantee they have.
However, their current web price is £1395 and I can see for example Currys web price of £1109. So it does seem to be about £400 more ! argh.

I've seen they have the Panasonic TX32LXD500 in store at John Lewis at £1634, which is less than their web price of £1795.

So, wondered if anyone had gotten, or seen a better price for this LCD from John Lewis.

Not bought from them myself but don't they have a price match policy? Give them a ring with the details of where you can get it cheaper, they will check it out and get back to you...hopefully matching the price.

I have not tried this but a chap i work with has bought loads from them and done it each time!!
Worth a try...all they can say is no

I got a Panasonic TX32LXD500 from John Lewis Sheffield about six weeks ago for £1449, including the free five year warranty!

At that time the model wasn't available from John Lewis's website, but they informed me that the stores carried different stock and put me through to my local branch which had one in stock, but only one.

The price was £1795. I asked if they would discount it , as I could get it for around £1400 plus delivery online, but they wouldn't budge. So I then asked if they would price match it. They would only price match it against local stores which had it in stock.

I noticed that Crampton & Moore had a shop in Sheffield, rang them to find out if it was in stock, which it was, and then phoned John Lewis to find out if they would price match. A few days later they rang to say they would match the price!

By the way this is an excellent television, and despite being relatively expensive, it's certainly worth it.
