I can't really decide between the two...

They both tend to get great reviews...

The panny seems to bit better connection-wise, has some connections on the front, which the hitachi seems to be lacking.

But the hitachi has dvi AND hdmi, and the panny seems to be missing regular D-SUB, or am I wrong?

Viewing will be mainly analog cable (Belgium), and xbox using upscaled 720p. Later on will probably add digital tv through RGB-scart.

Please help me make a decision... (almost desperate here)

I also face the same decision.

Mines for the bedroom, replacing a 28" Sony widescreen CRT and is going to be used mainly for DVD viewing and also with an Xbox and later a 360 and PS3. TV is viewed on it for less than 1% of the time it's on and is from an analogue cable source, so TV performance is pretty much not an issue for me.

    Need hi-def for 360, PS3 and later, HDDVD/Blu-Ray.

I two have been looking and reading all the reviews for both sets :smashin:
Both are top notch 32" lcds buy the sounds of it ,
The Panny has better Contrast but will cost about £500 more than the Hitachi also has very good connections and looks better if you ask me but word here is the Hitachi buzzing can be a bit loud ,

Which one do you buy

    :)

I in the same boat too, but I'm waiting to see a review of the LG 32LP1 (due v.soon) and the new Sony V series (Local Sony Center quoted October)

I'm not too worried about the money (ie: Sony) - I just want to take in all the info and make an informed choice.

Why not check out the jvc 32" 6 series? It has no buzz, is a lot cheaper and has an amazing picture on dvd's and a good analogue tuner build in (i live in the netherlands and the picture from cable is good for a lcd, not better than crt or plasma though, gotta get digital for that) and besides that it's got all the connections you could wish except dvi.

I have the Panasonic TX32LXD500 - absolutely chuffed to bits with it
The digital tuner provides a top quality picture. HDMI, VGA, component, 2xRGBscart + 1 normal Scart, composite & S-video inputs. (The normal scart also provides DVB output I believe).
