Looking to buy the PANASONIC TX32LMD70 for the father in law and can get it for £477 from dixons or currys.

There is also the TX32LXD70 which is £160ish more. I know it's got a couple of extra things like sd card slot, 3 hdmi as appose to 2 but is the picture quality much different. Don't have sky it will just be freeview channels

Don't know if it's worth spending the extra money if there isn't going to be a big/noticeable improvement in quality

    Many thanks

This question has been asked many times before mate. It's gonna be a matter of preference really. I say go and see them both in action, somewhere like John Lewis, and judge from that. Then read all the reviews floating around the net on both sets. And go from there. The LXD in MY opinion looks better, and it's worth the extra money but others here will disagree. And the end of the day, it's down to you.

Bubble, The Tx32lxd700 has 3 HDMI , the Tx32lxd70 has 2 HDMI. THe Tx32lmd70 is not 100hz and i think the viewing angle is not as good as the LXD models. On Dixons you can get the Tx32lxd70 for around £100 (£587) more than the Tx32lmd70. Personally i am saving my hard earned pennies for either the Tx32lxd70 or the Tx32lxd700:clap:. Hope this helps.

    I would recommend the lxd70 or 700.

You are getting confused as to which is which. The post above me is correct.

Get the LXD70 if you have an external sound source (ie amp and surround sound) and get the LXD700 if you havent as it has a better sound set up.

It is the LXD700 that has the SD card slot (why you would want one anyway?) and the extra HDMI which is at the front.

The LXD70 and 700 both have a better superior panel, better contrast ratio and 100hz technology which makes sports better to watch. The LMD70 uses the same panel as the Toshiba and is the entry level panansonic.

    no sure what i'm getting confused about   There's 3 32" models isn't there LMD70, LDX70 and LDX700

Sound isn't that important as it's for the father in law as is the extra hdmi, sd slot etc. only bothered about the picture quality really. i'll have a trip into the local panasonic shop for a look to see if you can notice any difference in the IQ

Does anyone know the response time of the models as I can't find the response time listed anywhere

    thanks

    Bubble,
Just to clarify, your original post stated :

THe LXD700 has the above as features, not the LXD70.

Ah right I get you! cheers

    Basically it's between these 2

    Tx32lmd70 & Tx32lxd70

The only thing I'm bothered about is the PQ so I'm going to go and have a look instore although I hate it when they have 20 TVs using 1 feed as it's hard to compare
