Hello, my first visit here and I'm no expert.
I have narrowed my search (due to budget) to the Panasonic TX26LXD50 (not HD ready but has freeview) and the Samsung LE26R51BD (HD ready + freeview). Both are similarly priced around £800.
I like the idea of HD but we don't have sky and is unlikely to be on terrestrial until 2010, by then I'll be a lot richer hopefully.
So it comes down to quality of picture.
Many of the threads I've read so far agree that shops don't pay much attention to tuning their receivers in properly, so it is difficult to judge having visited Currys today. The advice given in store was not compelling.
To my mind - Panasonic have the better brand name and good reviews, but Samsung seems a good picture from what I've seen.
Many of people come on here asking advice and apologise for being another one, but any thoughts gratefully received.
