Compared to other LCDs (not attempting to compare with other technologies):
1: Has a low resolution panel (848x480) which is optimised for NTSC (480 lines). Has to downscale (ie degrade) a PAL signal (576 lines) in order to display it.
2: Nice aesthetic design (IMO)
3: Good viewing angle left, right, above. Poor viewing angle below.
4: Has a clever scheme whereby the intensity of the backlight is reduced when the picture content is mainly dark. This improves perceived contrast. AFAIK, this is a unique feature.
5: Is typically more expensive (without good reason IMO) than alternatives.
