Hi, Would the 50" Panasonic TX-P50VT50B be a good choice for PC gaming and watching 2D and 3D movies.

Will Mostly be used for PC gaming and some Xbox.

Anyone tried 3d gaming on this or a similar model?.

Anyone know what the Sony equivalent of this TV is?

    Thanks.

PC gaming is fantastic on a plasma as long as you are running your games at 60fps and don't mind running the screen wipe for a bit at the end of the day and running the panel in. 30fps games look a bit nasty on plasma when the camera moves. There is also the possibility of it not supporting rgb 4:4:4 so colour details on edges are not pin sharp, but at distance this is probably a non issue.
The sony models have lower input lag than the plasma and in games mode they all have a motion enhancer that removes blur but dims the image and some people may notice a slight flicker.
As you want active 3d and a quality image for movies then the sony W9 series would be the closest match. If you want plasma why not go for the panny GT60 50" as it's only around £1200 and newer years models are always better.
If gaming in 3d you are limited to 720p per eye so the image quality is not as good as 1080p in 2d on the PC.
