    Hi all,

    I've been toying with the idea of buying a new TV for a while, long story short. I've had a Wharfedale 42" 1080p TV for around 7 years now. The TV isn't showing any signs of its age and in fact gets the odd compliment!

    Earlier on today I walked into a shop that specialises in televisions and saw a demonstration of 3D on the TX-L42E6B, they simply had a demo of Titanic and it was at the title screen. Which when viewed via 3D glasses, looked absolutely amazing IMO. Does anyone own this TV and have any comments? In the shop the TV was £1399 but it's just £479 delivered from Amazon.

    Thanks,

    The E6b isn't 3d capable. Sure it wasn't the et60? Neither ever had an rrp of £1300 in 42". Might want to check the model numbers

    Thanks for pointing that out! I took the model number off a box nearby so it could well have been for a different model :)

    I was able to pop in on the way to work, spoke with the owner of the shop who stated the TV is an exclusive to Panasonic stores and didn't tell me the model number unfortunately. While speaking to him he advised it was now £1199 opposed to £1399. Checking over the Panasonic site, it is one of the following models:

    TX-L42DT65B
    TX-L42FT60B
    TX-L42ET60B

    Must be the dt at that price? Is that your budget?

    Did you also look at the plasmas. The gt60 is top notch

    To be honest, I was looking around the same lines as you mentioned <£600 but the quality was really impressive on the 3D on this particular TV - it may not be a million miles apart in a side by side comparison I suppose. Probably worth seeing a demo on TV's in my budget.

    I'll take a look now Vickster, thanks for your help with this - EDIT: ah maybe they are a tad expensive! :D

    It might re-assure you to read the following exert taken from a review of the Panasonic E60 (US version of E6B) by CNET.com;

    'It's also worth noting that even though I didn't include it in the comparison below, nor have I subjected it to a full review yet, I've tested our in-house TC-L55WT60 -- Panasonic's most expensive LED LCD for 2013 -- enough to report that it doesn't have better picture quality than the E60.'

    (CNET are one of the pre-eminent TV reviewers from the States.)

    High praise indeed for the lowly E6B!!!
