Panasonic TX-L42E3B - Problems with Freeview and Nintendo 64

I have just purchased a 42" TX-L42E3B to start my new home system setup. Part of what I wanted to do was play all my retro consoles on it.

The only problem I am having with the TV are

1) The Freeview is only picking up certain channels, Missing all of the BBC Channels. (I did purchase a cheap Arial cable from asda?)

2) When trying to play the Nintendo64 the picture is wavey like with no sound. I have tried manual tuning but no look. Could it be the Nintendo can't handle the output (Sorry totally new to all this)

Any help would be fantastic.

Its connected via composite....

I can't get a stable picture on the TV, it concomitantly flickers and spits.

Thanks for the help so far.

You need more than a cable - you need an aerial to connect it to.
Check with the Freeview web site for the service in your area, then work out if you need a new aerial.
