Panasonic TX-65HZ980B vs LG OLED65BX6 LB

Hi all,

I have taken delivery of the Panasonic TX-65HZ980B today, however I am now wondering if the LG OLED65BX6LB would have been a better option?

The price is very similar between both so that is not a deciding factor,

I don’t play games etc. - it would be used for YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

Which would deliver the best image etc? From what I’ve read; the Panasonic may have a slightly superior processor? Have I made the right decision?

I haven’t opened/unboxed the Panasonic yet, so I am still unsure... :)

Many thanks in advance.

If you want the best natural picture and colors out of the box...hard to beat Panasonic...
Personally, LG Will never be for me..
LG tends to offer better overall packages (os, games,....) while pana is about picture.
i have the fz series and still can’t believe how nice it is.
You will be happy with whatever tv you select...
If indecisive , go spend 15-20 mins with each again....

Perfect! Thankyou! Panasonic it is then as for me it’s all about the picture 😃

I reckon YouTube/Netflix & Amazon Video apps should work fine on the Panasonic?

While Panasonic's OS isn't the best-looking, the Prime, Netflix and YouTube apps work well and are snappy and responsive.... on my GZ950 at least.

I was in a similar position to you a while ago and struggling to choose between the LG C9 and Panasonic GZ950 but, 18 months later, I have no regrets about going for the Panasonic.

Agree with previous comment. Os is super basic but works. I complement mine with Amazon stick 4k and pretty much covered.
what you will discover with pana is that the settings are pretty much perfect.
i use thx for majority of what I watch and pro1 and pro 2 for serious stuff and hdr.
check the owner thread for your tv and enjoy it.
i don’t even use a Blu ray uhd and mainly streaming...I can’t believe the picture quality still for some shows...
Your tv is 2 generations younger with better upscaling and motion plus I believe Dolby vision...enjoy

Brilliant TV guys, cheers! Think I’ll get one for the bedroom too... 😆

I’ve also spotted the LG CX it’s £280 more than the Panasonic. Is it worth the extra? No gaming only Netflix etc
