Hi Guys This is my dilemma,

I have had a Panasonic TX-42PV500 since it was first released, & I love it, I just thought it was time I had a new set, I have been reading about both these sets & it seems both have faults, I think my biggest concern is the green blob on the Panny otherwise I would just go for that one, however I really did want a brighter picture as my room is quite bright & I was even tempted with an LED, Now from what I have read the Samsung has the brighter picture.

So there we have it, Both sets are around the same price the Samsung would come with 5yr warranty, any advice would be appreciated.

Should have added Tv will be used just for SD & HD viewing really no gaming.

60 Views but no opinions, looks like others are thinking the same as me and can't decide

I went for the Sammy d6900 51" and very happy with it. Considered panny but preferred styling of Sammy and reports of green blobs etc put me off. Recommend John Lewis price match with prcdirect for £849

    Thanks Golly99,

Have you tried the recording to HD feature yet if so how was it?

also what is the freeview picture quality like?

I believe the smart features are a bit buggy, how have you found them?

    Cheers

I use sky+ to record so not tried the built in recorder. The actual freeview picture seems pretty good on most channels and much better than the previous led tv I had. Not used smart tv much quite an attractive interface but it can be a bit slow
