Hi guys

Does anyone know how to turn the tv speakers off on this model as my new sound base is optical only and unlike my old Panasonic HDMI sound bar in which the sound was automatically muted does not work on optical for some reason

thanks

Mute or turn volume to zero surely?
BTW you left out a "P" from the model no as in "TX-P42V20B"

Pedantic sod!!!

I have the same set in my bedroom and have just checked and JayCee is correct in what he is saying, there seems not to be another way.

thanks guys
the trouble with both mute and turning the sound down to 0 is that for any adjustments to sound you need to use the sound bar remote so you have to keep the 2 remotes handy one for the tv channels etc and the other just for sound etc which is not ideal
lucky the canton remote is very solid and is unlikely to go missing like down the sofa:rolleyes:
