Panasonic TX-40AX630B Has Developed A Fault

Hello, I bought a Panasonic 40" TX-40AX630B TV from Richersounds 7 years ago and it has developed a strange fault. If I attempt to press any button on the remote control (access media features etc.) or the back of the TV, the TV locks up for a few minutes or longer and the screen goes blank, if however I leave it on the same channel, it will work fine all day long. I've tried changing batteries on the remote, changing plug sockets and doing other things such as a factory reset which took nearly two hours to tune in the TV channels, when normally it only takes about 3 minutes at the most. I have also tried holding the power button on the back of the TV for 60 seconds with the cord unplugged which made no difference at all. The green LED light blinks about 12 times when it first comes on and the TV doesn't always come on first time, and I have to turn it off at the back of the TV and back on again. Any idea what could be wrong and is it worth getting fixed? The picture and sound still work perfectly and it would be a shame if it cannot be fixed.

Thanks! :)

My Panasonic TV has now completely failed with continuous flashing green lights that keep repeating forever. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi teeveedee, It's a good TV and I would rather get it fixed than waste time buying a new TV that turns out to be far inferior. I'm currently returning an LG 50NANO866PA, as it has a lousy viewing angle and suffers from colour shift, even when viewing head-on. The Panasonic 40" TX-40AX630B has much better picture quality and viewing angle which is the most important thing to me when buying a TV,
