Panasonic TX-37LXD70 - Dolby Prologic Issue

I have Panasonic TX-37LXD70 TV connected to my Onkyo 875 via stereo out into the Game/TV input on my amp. If I switch to any multi channel decoding setting, I only sound out of the front right speaker. If I switch to 'direct' or 'pure' I get a stereo signal out both front speakers.

I know the TV is OK as my previous amp did decode the multi channel prologic from this source so I can only put it down to the amp can not decode Panasonic's prologic.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

Only thing I can think off is to check the cabling especially the left output as this may not be fully home or faulty. Think when your in pure or direct, it thinks its a mono source (because its only getting the right channel) and ouputting this to both speakers. For the other surround modes it needs both inputs to produce the other channels, So can only extract the right audio out.

Thanks for the quick reply, dwhite. I have tried two set of cables and changed back to my other amp (which does works). I am getting true stereo in 'Direct' and 'Pure' modes. I can only think that Onkyo's implementation of Prologic is not compatable with my TV.:(
