Does anyone know if there are any plans to introduce a cabinet stand for this LCD. From reading your comments I know everyone raves about the picture quality but it would be so much easier to "sell" to the living room overseer as a piece of furniture if it had the cabinet stand, and I fear a 37" plasma would be too big for our room. :(

    Thanks

I asked the same question to Panasonic to which they replied that there were no stands for the lcd screens apart from the existing table top stand and that there were no plans to introduce them. It seems if you want the stand then it is the Panny plasma tv for you.

    Thanks.

Whar pisses me off is that in Japan a TH32LX500 which looks all hell of a like the TX32LXD500 here has a cabinet stand option. Pity Panasonic UK couldn't offer them here....but probably wouldn't fit knowing my luck.

    Hi Folks

What's the best deal for this model on the high street at the moment ?

My local Panasonic shop have quoted me £1599.99

Currys and Comet only seem to stock the LX32DX50 so I can't use their "Price promise".

    Regards

Depends where you are. In Glasgow Robert Whyte are doing it for 1499 with a five year guarantee.

    Alio,

Ask the question of Panasonic regarding the Japan stand. I found that they responded fairly quickly. If you do, please let me know the answer as I am currently looking at the Alphason range of stands for the Panny tx32lxd500.

Alio, can I ask how big your room is ? Just interested, as I was also torn between the 32" LCD and the 37" PV500 Plasma. I'm 99% certain I'll be going for the LCD screen as I'm having to place the TV on a stand in a corner. I think the 37" Plasma is really suited for wall-mounting or on a stand flat against a long wall.

I saw this TV on a cabinet stand in a Panasonic shop in Torquay on my hols! :D

I specifically went into the shop to look at this model, I had to look twice to find it because I wasn't expecting it to be sitting on a stand.

The stand was exactly the same design as the Plasma models.

    Hi.

Thanks for that. I asked Panasonic UK, and they said

"I regret that these stands are not marketed in the UK. I would explain that although we would like to be of assistance, our organisation has information and software that is limited to products sold in the UK. Please contact the Panasonic representative in the country of origin for assistance."

Anyway TV arrived so I bought a Stil 2003 stand and it looks pretty damned smart in my living room, and head of interiors is pleased, so almost harmony all round :D . Hopefully I've attached a photo.

    Cheers

    Al

I bought JVC stand for my Panny. First saw it at an independent TV retailer for £300, but then did a search and found it at http://www.electricshop.com/invt/4000jvc111759a&bklist=icat,3,,tvstands
Smoked black glass shelves, oval shape, curved stainless uprights.
Took 30 mins to assemble, but it looks really classy. Good for up to 32" LCD.

The photo on the website does it no justice.

Do you have a pic of your Panny with that stand Scuba Doo ? I've been looking at this stand for my LXD500 ( when it arrives ). It's not too wide for the screen is it ?

    Here we go one attachment..

Be interested to know what other equipement people have to go with the tv, as you see mine got a rather empty stand!

I'm trying to get everything "future proof" for later years..
need Home cinema (the lot CVC player/Amp/speakers)

Must mention its a 2 man job to get the stand and telly together as it's quite heavy..

The stand is also difficult to fit the last bars.. the top bar goes on fine but on the back of the tv there are 2 holes on one side and 1 hole on the other..

I saw it in Debenhams a couple of weeks ago for £1299 plus a free DVD player but didn't realise what a bargain it was! Phoned yesterday and the manager said he'd honour that price even though the offer had closed, so I ordered it (together with a Panasonic VHS/DVD recorder with £150 off) with my CC. Can't wait to pick it up next week.

BTW, can anyone tell me what leads I need to connect these, together with my Sky digbox? Best value for best PQ through the Sky box is what I need.

    Thanks,

    BJL

    Hi

Was that offer at Debenhams definitely for the TX32LXD500 and not the TX32LXD50 ?

I looked on their website and couldn't find it on there.

It was in the Plymouth shop. The advertising "banner" said the 50 but it looked different to the 26" 50 also on display so I checked with the manager & he confirmed it was the 500 he was selling. He said it was a bargain &, for once, a salesman was telling the truth! I couldn't find it on their website either, probably the TV department in Plymouth is one of the "concessions" they have in Debenhams.

Can anyone assist with my query on cables? Any help greatly appreciated.

    Out of interest...

If I want to put the output from the freeview tuner from the TX32LXD500 through my MCE HTPC what output is used on the TV.

    Thanks in advance.

AV2 scart or AV4 scart can be used for outputting from the digital tuner. The manual says this should be used in conjunction with a QLink compatible device for recording (presumably so it starts recording automatically). I guess as long as your HTPC is set to receive the data at the desired time then there shouldn't be a problem.

    http://www.letsgodigital.co.uk/

£1457 (no hidden surcharges or delivery charges)

Service second to none. 30 day no quibble return. Will deliver to a work address.

Two knowledgeable guys man the phones.

I bought a JVC LCD, returned it and got a Panny LCD delivered on the same vehicle which collected the JVC for return.
