Hi all

Just a Quick question I am setting up a HTPC on Panasonic 1080p, 42" plasma and would like to know what 1080p pixel direct is ?

I have found out the RGB Full/Limited setting which limited been Normal setting. But is 1080p Pixel direct a ycbcr or rgb setting ?

so off is this ycbcr
and on is RGB ?

or the other way round or does that not have anything to do with that as I can not seem to find a setting in the tv for ycbcr or rgb hdmi input.

I have set the
PC to RGB Full
Software Player to Limited
TV set To limited which is normal on a Panasonic tv
to get the best from the HTPC for videos only

but I am not sure if its ycbcr or rgb on the TV ?

any help on this setting thanks

any help on this thanks

It enables 4:4:4 chroma input/handling. Is the TV an ST60?

Hi there

yes its a TX-P42ST60B, but what is the setting when its disabled ?

so enabled it sets it to 4:4:4 but is that RGB or YCbCr.

Anyone ?

I think it's for both. If you have certain external media devices, then you can see the type of signal that is being sent. My blu ray player will show this information and will send either type of signal.

Note: The Pixel Direct option (according to a review) interacts with the HDMI Content Type setting. You might wish to experiment with that, too.

I think Pixel Direct is what is called Pure Direct on the VT65s, btw.

So what does it do exactly when it's on and off I still don't understand.
