I have a Panasonic TK 32PK2 widescreen TV and a Pioneer DV 444 DVD player. The player is connected to the TV through a £9.99 SCART joiner from Argos as the TV has only one RGB enabled SCART socket.

The problem I have is this: The TV does not recognise the RGB signal from my DVD player. This is also the case when I connect the DVD direct to the RGB SCART on the TV. HOWEVER (here comes the strange part), when routing through the scart connector, if I turn the Sky+ box, the TV recognises the RGB signal from the DVD player. If you turn the Sky+ box off, the picture on screen reverts to composite.

I have only had the TV 3 days and my old Sony used to recognise the RGB signal no problem. This afternoon, I connected the DVD player to a Sony portable and RGB worked no problem.

Help anybody. (Fade to Twilight Zone music)
