Panasonic TV aspect issue with sky hd+

i have a Panasonic tx-p50gt50b when watching any programme on sky the screen aspect randomly decides to change and goes black for 1 or 2 seconds before returning to exactly the same. In the top left hand corner of the screen says wide goes black then says ec/hdmi1 wide. Sky engineer been out today and swapped sky hd+ box but no difference. This problem only started happening within last four months. I've read hours of forum notes on forums but getting one where can anyone help

Have you trie changing the HDMI lead or the socket on the TV that it is plugged into? What is the output on the Sky box set to (auto, 1080i etc)? As the Sky box has been changed the problem is one of 3 things - faulty cable, faulty TV or incorrect settings.

It sounds similar to a problem I had on my Panasonic. I followed the instructions in this thread, and it resolved it for a while then came back. The next time I followed the instructions, the problem went away again and hasn't reoccurred. That was over a year ago.

Bear in mind that this resets everything, so make a note of your current settings as you'll have to reapply them.
