Has anyone been able to upgrade the drive on their dvd recorder. does anyone know how the disk is formated. Pioneer seems to have a utility to format the hard drive if needed. Anyone know if it would allow you to install a bigger drive I am currently looking at the following units RDXS32 DVD520H DMR-E85HS HAS ANYONE HAD ANY LUCK UPGRADING THEIR HARD DRIVE :lease:

No is the short answer. It is possible to swap your HDD for a new one but even if the capacity of that HDD is bigger it is still 'locked' to the capacity of the original. Nobody has yet found a way around this imposed limitation - and it's not surprising considering all three companies listed see their future profits from selling you a machine with a larger HDD!
