Looking to purchase from didital direct or would it be better to go for 5 year warranty with JL AND ASK FOR PRICE MATCH.

Normal Sky on a decent channel is very good but once you see an HD source on it anything else is a bit disappointing.

Obviously it's best to connect it to Sky HD and blu-ray/HD-DVD, basically it's a no brainer if you're after better picture quality. It does come at a price though so depends how much you want it.

Had a PX50 for a few months now and chuffed to bits with it!!!

Yes sky hd is amazing but SD is very good.

Remember that all the sky SD channels are broadcast at different bitrates so some will be better than others.

Thanks for your views so it might be wise to upgrade to next model PAN TH50PZ70 for full HD. The reason for going for the PX70 was that i have seen it for just under a grand.

Cheers

I got one of these back in October from Dixons online for £1099 including a wall bracket. It is excellent. The quality of SDTV is impressive and the Bluray HD content is astounding - Planet Earth being the current benchmark for me. I use a PS3 as a player and also for streaming video from a PC which displays DVD quality with no issues, just works out of he box. After seeing what I consider to be low quality SD images on show in shops, it is easy for you to be put off - don't be. Having watched sky HD elsewhere, many have advised me that it is not currently worth the money and with such good upscaling quality either from a PS3 or otherwise I agreed.
