JUst so anyone still looking knows, John Lewis MK emailed me back this morning; and have accepted my pricematch/under sale to John Lewis Glasgow.

So price match to JL Glasgow and you can get the set for £699, which is probably the second lowest price I've seen it for :)

It's going to be instore for collection from Monday (trust delivery drivers as little as possible, especially when JL MK is so close to me)...can't wait!

I tried this with my local JL and they gave me the run around. So I gave up and got it from Tesco for £760. Only one year warranty though :(.

anyone know if glasgow will still have these tv's this weekend? i dont get paid till tomorrow :-(

and what the chances that any of the other JL would be selling this again for £599? can't believe I didn't start looking at tv's until after this price! and to think we might have been actually at John Lewis at that very time they had it for that price (we went to Harlequin Shopping Mall)

The only way John Lewis would sell the TV for lower than £699 is if some other retailer has it in stock at a lower price. I can't see that happening when stock is hard to find as newer models are coming out. My advise is if you want the TV to order over the phone from John Lewis Glasgow and it will be delivered from either your nearest store or the central warehouse. Alternatively you can goto your local JL and get them to price match Glasgow but that takes longer.

If it helps anyone get the £699 price, my undersale number was 41419. My name is Mr A Rose. (seem to remember seeing an undersale number is sometimes reusable)

@ Muscleflex, I'm not sure if JL Glasgow will, but they seemed confident in stock when I rang yesterday, when I ordered from MK they said they all came from a central depot anyway, and I could collect from a collection point, a store, or get it delivered :)

If you apply for a price match with JL Glasgow with your local store it should take a day or 2 to turn around, you can then pay for the tv at the weekend :smashin:

thanks - that's what i was told as well yesterday - they have lots in stock... and i'm not telling anyone so they dont sell out fast.. ;)
i'm gonna have it delivered. not sure if the box will fit in my focus.. altho i was given a philips 37" plasma (2005 model) and that's 46 inches wide and it just fitted in the back seat of the car....

what do you mean? call them today, order it and not pay till the weekend? or will i be able to go to the store, reserve one for the weekend and pay for it then? meaning i'll have to do it as a collection?

Taking this tv back. Not impressed with the blurring effect. Watched Private Ryan this afternoon and it put me off the film. Think i'll source an LCD screen. Shame really. :thumbsdow Now I know its there i'll be looking for it.

Not sure what blurrng you're seeing, but generally LCDs blur far more with motion than plasmas. Enjoy the dark side.

Depends on what you watch on the TV and how far away you sit. Dont believe all the marketing hype.

Your money though, spend it as you see fit.

You can move the screen left to right on the horizontal axis, but that's about it.

All you need is the TV and Stand (have a look at my picture on the previous page).

    I'd defo recommend this stand.

How much does it swivel side to side? That would definitely be useful for me as this will go in the corner so I'll need the tv to swivel to face the middle of the room.
I'm still looking for the cheapest place I can get this stand for.

I rang JL Glasgow this morning and they said that there were no stocks left, but they were expecting more to be delivered next week.

I spoke to Rachel who sounded american and was very helpful.

I got my local branch of JL to price match even though there was no stock at Glasgow, going in tomorrow to buy as on reserve until Tuesday next week.

    Result.

    Can't stop smiling.

Glasgow are still saying the price is £699, I phoned this morning. They are price matching against a local competitor there. No stock though!! High Wycombe & Southampton have stock if anyone lives there. Going to go to my local one and try to order one, get them to price match while they still can and just wait for new stock!!

Just ordered through JL Nottingham. JL Southhampton are delivering it next Wednesday. £699 inc. 5 year warranty!! Excellent. Thanks to all on avforum as I wouldn't have got this otherwise!

Got mine today and well impressed. PS3 looks fantastic through it at 1080p. Freeview is great also and looks just as good as my old CRT Tosh. Got loads of wiring still left to do (Surround Sound) and hide :rotfl:

They both look stunning. Only tried Motorstorm and GT Prologue so far and both look fabulous. I would say that the colours look richer on the plasma. However the lcd that I have to compare against is a few years old Samsung LE26R41BDX.

I have the 32" version of the Samsung R41, mines the LE32R41BDX
and am looking to upgrade to the Panasonic 42PZ80.

Youv'e mentioned that your PS3 looks stunning on your new Panny, how does the PQ look on it compared to your old samsung R41, i figure as we have the same samsung and as mentioned im also looking to buy the 42PZ80 you would be the perfect person to ask?

The Samsung was great for gaming on but it did suffer slightly on darker games where the detail just wasnt there. I havent tried any other games yet but will give them a go this week and report back.
