Panasonic TH42PX70 - Sudden Screen Fault

Thought I'd put a quick post up for this to see if anyone has any thoughts on it or have experienced it themselves.

Whilst watching the TV last night a column of green/pink (1 pixel/cell wide I think) suddenly appeared just off to the right of centre.

It is all the way down the screen and appears regardless of the input I select so I suspect this is a physical screen fault or maybe the output processing (although I would have thought if the output was knackered it would be a more drastic situation).

The screen is just 14 months old but luckily I got it on a pricematch from John Lewis so I've got a 5 year warranty.

Anyone else had this or got any thoughts/suggestions?

Cheers

Thanks,

I've done quite a bit of searching but can't find any posts about this.

This definitely isn't the purple snaking fault, it is an absolutely vertical line of cells that have gone.

Any chance you can point me in the direction of the threads you know of, or the search terms to use?

(I did find one thread with a similar fault but it was more along the lines of a completely black column of cells)

Cheers

Thanks, I've just had the Panasonic agent check it out and it needs a new screen. The agent said he has seen this fault alot but don't quote him? I'm also in contact with Panasonic customer service, so I wait and see what thay say first.
