We are getting the above television as a family Christmas present. However, being the AV idiots that we are, are unsure of what connections and such we'll need. The display doesn't come with a tuner so we'll need to be looking at a new tuner but, with the current setup, what else do we need to run everything smoothly?

VHS Player [Scart x2]
DVD Player (might replace with DVD Recorder) [Scart x1]
Playstation 2 [Composite x1]

With up to £300 to spend, what tuner should we be looking at getting? We are in a non-Freeview area so a set-top box tuner is out of the question. Also, a real stupid question I guess but do most AV Receivers have a built-in TV tuner?

Hi There
Firstly, no, AV receivers do not have a TV tuner.
They have a Radio tuner. This is what differentiates them from AV amps.
The easiest way is to get the Panasonic tuner box. Your VHS, DVD and PS will all plug into it buts it's ridiculously expensive, although you could probably get one for around the £300 you have.
Or you could get an AV receiver, connect it to the plasma via a component terminal board and connect everthing to the receiver. Remember you already have a perfectly good TV tuner in your VCR so you can use that to watch TV.
If you get a DVD recorder this will also have a tuner so then you will have two to choose from.

Hope this helps
