    Hi,

Have spent the last few months reading up on all the different options available and have more or less narrowed the field down to either the Panasonic TH42PV500 plasma or the Samsung LE40R51 lcd.

My main use is to watch DVD's and Sky Television, especially the football!

The Panasonic is about £300 more expensive from my supplier.

Both TV's state they are HD ready, although I notice that the Panasonic has a HDMI socket whereas the Samsung has a DVI socket. Does this matter much ?

Will I do best with either of these screens to buy a DVD player with an HDMI socket and progressive scan?

Can anyone help me with the choice?

I would be grateful to hear from you.

    Many thanks.
