Convinced the wife to let me return the PE50 to get something HD ready.

    But the question is what??

have been looking at the PV500, and the Hitachi 42PD7200, and am leaning towards the Hitachi.

What are peoples opinions of them both, and where is the best place to buy from??

    Thanks

I don't think you could go far wrong with either of them (I've seen them both, although not side by side). With the H you get a swivel stand, which might be useful. It also has detachable side speakers, altohugh with them fitted it makes the H seem very wide.

The 500 has built in under and side speakers which are virtually invisible. I also think it will take HD cards.

I like them both, but have decided to wait for the new Samsung, which may be a lot cheaper than either.

Nothing particualrly wrong with it, but my 7 days cooling off is nearly up and i have the opportunity of getting either of those (or any othr) in place of it, so i thought i would weigh up the options.

Yeah, distance selling and all thant malarkey means you have 7 days to return the goods and claim a full refund.

    Still stuck on what to get - PV500 (1024 * 768) / Hitachi 7200 (1024 * 1024) / LX py10 (1024 * 768) / Sagem HD45 (1280 * 720).

The panasonic has the stand included, but the others dont.

I saw the Sagem running some HD material in comet today and it was breathtaking.

    Now i'm stumped!!

What happens to items sent out and tested then sent back do they get sold again as new? or do they get sold as seconds because of no fault of the retailer so the retailer makes a loss?
Is this away to equalise shop and net prices if people use the net as a Library?

cannot be sold as "new" but many retailers do do this.......... Richer Sounds returns policy is so liberal that a fair % of their stock has been opened, demoed returned. But if you save a few quid on it because some idiot opened the box and didnt like its good enough for me. Often gets listed as ex-demo i once saw a dealer advertising 7 ex demo DVD-Rs they must have demoed alot of recordings!

PV500 is winning me over at the momwent, just need to see one running the same WMV-HD demo stuff i was watching on the Sagem HD-4d45 DLP set earlier (F1 and some surf stuff)

Oh, and finding someone with some stock at a reasonable price. I would be looking at £2.3 for the Hitachi with Alphason stand, how much for the PV500 and cab stand? and where from?
