    Is it worth getting this.

Bestprice I saw £2.8k at RS or £3k at Comet (Looking to do a pricematch with JL)

    OR..

Wait for the new Panny plasma, dunno what price it'll be.

    PS

Is there a better option than paying £180 for the desk stand.

Go for it. Got a 37PA20 this week. Picture is super. Feed it with a progress scan source and the picture is awesome.

Got mine for £2299 from JL. Pricematched with Selfridges (big thank you to Mikebigears for that). JL will pricematch with RS but I think Selfridges is cheaper than RS by £100. Note also JL is out of stock at the moment for the 42".

Yes it was. I owe you a pint for that mate. Only £300 more than the top of the range Sony CRT. Love the picture quality. Hope you'll get yours back soon.

888, because it was so new, i'm getting a new one .... for your info, panasonic had a problem with a "small" batch of power supplies. I spoke to them a few days ago and they are aware of the fault.... hopefully the next one will be fine! fingers crossed. the pw6 uses the same power pack too. Ive asked for serial numbers but as yet no info from them. I'll post details when i get them.

No idea. But I have a funny feeling they may not stock them for much longer because the profit margin is getting too low for them. I know that when I brougt my DR-M1. Tried to pricematch RS with JL but JL has out of stock and said they will be getting some more in and in the end they scrapped it. Luckily picked one up from RS with 3yr warranty and 50% buy back.

JL is still trying to sell the PW6 at £3,999 when the 42PA20 is only £3,011.

This may be pushing it but do JL pricematch with places like Newnix and digitaldepot?

also I heard that the 50% buyback had been withdrawn by RS as they were making big losses on it. anyone confirm that?

888, reason for lack of stock is because panasonic have stopped production of the TH42 and 37 models and are getting ready for the PE30 model.

Depends on your guarantee. If its new for old, you'll get the new model. If not you might get an ex-rental or recon'd PA20.

    So check your warranty.

People are obviously reading this thread. The 37PA20 stock level on JL site went from 10+ in the morning to 3 at noon, 1 at 1pm and out of stock by 2pm.

    Good luck all new owners!!!
