    Hello,

Richer Sounds are dooing these for £900. As a newbie to all this, can anyone advise me as to whether or not these are any good? Or would I be better off spending £900 on a new CRT?
Also, is there anything else I'll need to go with the TV? I've got Sky+ and an amp and speakers, so would I just be able to plug this in and start watching?

    I'd appreciate any thoughts . . .

its a prettygood price but the 42" are nota lot more now.....does it come with a scart board do you know?....you wont be able to plug straight in without one........there are other options too that will allow you to use the standard vga input on the screen but be prepared to spend another £180+

    Hello,

    Missed the sale . . .

I don't really want a 42 inch - I think 37 will be enough for my room. I don't know if it does come with a scart board, but thanks for pointing it out so I can ask in the shop.

Anyone know whether the picture quality is any good?

if you have the viewing distance and room then go for a 42 but i havent and im a bout 6/7 feet away from my 37 and the picture is glorious mate.im very very picky and have held off buying one for about a year maybe more because of the of screen burn, dodgy footie picture, poor quality on sky etc but let me reassure you the picture on sky is as good as it was on my sony CRT (and that was a lovely picture i might add) there poorer channels like the music chav channels etc can be a bit pixellated but they where on a crt you just notice it more on the big screen.i watched the liverpool game on ITV2 and there quality isnt really anything to brag about and the picture was no worse than my old crt.

i demoed a PV500 a few weeks ago and i have to say i think the pic on my SDpw7 is better than the SD picture on the pv500 and at the price you cant argue mate ,i mean £900.if you are serious about getting it i took richer to the cleaners on there prices as i got them to price match on a stand that was £120 cheaper else where and 20 off a component board.
