I emailed Panny UK to see (wishful thinking!!) if they had any info on these models -

"I have just seen the new Viera PZ 1080p models which have
recently been launched in Japan. Could you answer the following questions
please.
1. When will these models be available in the UK? I have heard that it will be
Spring 2007.
2. Will they be available in the high gloss black finish as they are in Japan.
3. Any ideas on pricing yet - I am interested in the 50" or 58" models".
Regards
Graham

Thank you for your e-mail enquiry.

We launch a series of products throughout the year. The first of those products are to be introduced at our trade fair in the spring. We will not receive any further information regarding new releases until that time.

Panasonic UK does currently feature two Viera1080p plasma screens which are the TH-65PX600 (65") and the TH-103PF9EK (103"). Please see our website for further details of both of these products.
Customer Support

So not a lot of help!! I was going to purchase a Fujitsu 50" 58series but decided I would hold on to see what these models have to offer - just in case!!!

Thanks for that...Not planning on buying until april-may..Gotta wait for conservatory so I can put my out my old CRT in there..
Hopefully will be able to get a new Panny then.

Cheers
J

Don't expect miracles from the PZ600 series. The below are my observations.

Pros

1.Full HD resolution Panasonic's proprietary 1080p PEAKS processor
2.3 HDMI inputs (1 in front)
3.16-bit processing
4.4,096 shades of gradation (I think)

Cons

1.About 500 kWh power consumption (a bit too high)
2.Overseas pricing

Lowest price of this TV in Japan is 369,799 yen (1650 GBP).
MAX Retail price is around 500,000 yen (2,200 GBP).

I have seen it many times and with 1080p I was able to see some extra background depth of the image and more realistic flesh tones.

May be if you watch it via HDMI v1.3 player you may be able to see more details.
