    Hmm, I hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot, but is the aforementioned model (PANASONIC TH 50-PHD7UY) the US model? ON www.panasonic.co.uk I can only see 50-PHD7BK.

    I ask this because there is a 9 day auction and encounting on ebay, with a price of £360. (I bid £350 and was just outbid).

    So is it only a US model? Would it work over here?

    regards Darren

    yeah you're right. talk about impulse gambling/ebaying. It wouldn't even fit on my wall!
    I see now it accepts a power supply for 110-120V @ 50-60Hz
    Maybe this means one could use a transformer? In't UK electricity 220-240V at 50Hz? I assume fiddling with that sort of thing with a £5000 PDP is not a good idea.

    Happy bidding to others if they're interested.

    They gobble a fair amount of juice but a big stepdown converter would get round the problem, would cost a fair bit but could be worth doing.

    @Gizlaroc

    Weren't you mentioning earlier how much you'd like a 50" Panny PHD7? There's still 9 days before auction is over. Description says it is new.

    Yeah I may swing him an email and see what he is saying about the screen. I have a step down that would do it justice already, but I am not sure if the UY screens allow 50Hz at 50Hz, there was mention of this on the av science forum a while back, need to do some digging I think. If they do I would only go to £1500, if it doesn't I wouldn't pay the £360 it is at now.

    The 5 last items this guy bought were all low value items. Not saying he is not legit but be careful. It is EBay after all. Goes without saying really but only pay if you can go and collect and see working yourself.
