    I've just got myself a 46PZ81 & I'm happy with it.
The only (small) thing that is annoying me is that, when viewing in 4.3 there are light grey bars on either side of the picture. Now bearing in mind the fact that the TV is black, this light grey colour is distracting.
My other Panasonic TV in the bedroom is about a year old & has black bars either side of the 4.3 picture. So why have Panasonic changed to light grey, which is just silly?
I don't suppose anyone knows if there is any way of changing the grey to black? I've read the instructions, but no mention of it there.

Setup menu, change "Side Panels" to "off" to get black side bars. Leaving the side panels grey helps avoid image retention when the set is new.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
I've just followed your guide & see that I can actually choose between light grey, mid grey & dark grey as well as the black.
You know when you say "Leaving the side panels grey helps avoid image retention when the set is new".
Do you mean that the screen is more prone to 'image retention' when new?
Also, do you think I should leave the 'side panels' grey, even if I choose the dark grey (low) to protect my screen?

    Thanks again

BTW. I think this is a great TV. I always try to buy Panasonic TV's.
You could say that I'm set up for Digital TV now. (We loose Analogue in just 4 months).
Through this TV I now have:-
    Freeview
    FreeSat
    SKY
    & BT Vision :)

Yes, when new the set is more prone to image retention. But if you only watch the occasional 4:3 film, it's not a big deal. When you then switch to a normal program, you might see some ghosting where the black bars were. But this will wash away after a few minutes watching something else.

Side panels of grey help prevent this.
